Korean Film Festival is an annual event hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea since 2009. This year, Korean Film Festival would be more meaningful and brilliant, since this year is ‘Korea-Indonesia Friendship Year’ to celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relationship between Korea and Indonesia.

Korean Film Festival introduces Korean traditional and contemporary culture with high-quality and outstanding movies. It contributes to the maximization of local public audiences’ interest on Korean movies in Indonesia. Over the years, this event is becoming an attractive film festival waited long by not only Korean residents in Indonesia but also Indonesian citizens.

Decorated with colorful events, Korean Film Festival can further improve communication and friendship among Korean and Indonesian citizens and it would become a forum for festival that all of us can enjoy together.

Park Hae-il

Park Hae-il was born in South Korea in January 26, 1977. His first impression was made from the film ‘Jealousy Is My Middle Name’, the film won the top prize at Busan International Film Festival in 2002. He involved in a various film production afterwards (Memories of Murder, My Mother, the Mermaid, A Muse, Hearbeat, Mosss, A Million, Rules of Dating, The Boy Who Went to Heaven, etc). In 2006 he worked with acclaimed director Bong Joon-ho in a Korean best selling film of all time “The Host”. He has been playing in many films with different character, he received the prestigious Grand Bell Awards and Blue Dragon Awards for Best Actors from his role in “War of the Arrows” in 2011. His recent film “Boomerang Family” has been chosen as the opening film for Korean Film Festival in Jakarta, 2013.

Dilahirkan di Korea Selatan 26 January 1977, Park Hae-il telah malang melintang di industri perfilman Korea Selatan. Nama Park Hae-il mulai dikenal lewat film ‘Jealousy Is My Middle Name’ yang memenangkan penghargaan di Busan International Film Festival pada tahun 2002. Di tahun 2006, Park Hae-il bekerjasama dengan sutradara Bong Joon-ho dalam film “The Host” yang merupakan salah satu film dengan jumlah penonton tertinggi sepanjang sejarah di Korea Selatan. Park Hae-il mendapatkan penghargaan sebagai aktor terbaik dalam ajang Grand Bell Awards dan Blue Dragon Awards di tahun 2011 dalam film “War of the Arrows”. Selama masa berkarirnya, Park Hae-il telah berperan dalam banyak film di Korea Selatan (Memories of Murder, My Mother, the Mermaid, A Muse, Hearbeat, Moss, A Million, Rules of Dating, The Boy Who Went to Heaven, dan lain-lain).
